Mardi Himal Trek!!

This trek will allow you to discover the essence of Nepal in a short trip of 10 days. You can visit the two main cities of the country (Kathmandu and Pokhara) and discover some of its temples.

Mardi Himal Trek is a relatively new and much less touristy route than the popular routes on the south side of the Annapurna located further west. This trip will take you to the depths of the Annapurna massif through rice fields, tropical rhododendron forests and reaching an edge with stunning panoramic views of the southern face of the Annapurnas and Machhapuchare (the sacred and forbidden mountain climbing of the god Shivá). But above all you will discover the people of Nepal, which is what makes this country special.

Dare to live the best Annapurna’s views!!

Gooing to Kathmandu

Day 1:
Departure towards Kathmandu

Day 2:
Arrival in Kathmandu. Transfer to the hotel. Afternoon free, we can visit the famous Buddhist stupa of Boudhnath, get lost in the streets of Thamel and get dinner our first Dal bhat (the most traditional dish of Nepalese food).

First day of trekking.

Day 3:
Pick up at the hotel and transfer to Kathmandu airport. Morning flight to Pokhara (around 8.30 AM). At the Pokhara airport our guide will pick us up to take us by jeep to Sidhing (approximately 2h).
This is the toughest journey day. After an interesting jeep tour to the small town of Sidhing (2,000m) we have a strong and steady climb in front of a tropical forest until we reach the Low Camp (3,000m). To our right we do not stop seeing the Machhapuchare (6,993m), also known as Fish’s Tail. The tour is approximately 3.5 hours.

Tonight we will have a special dinner, the combination of typical Nepalese food combined with a western Christmas presents night.

View Point, the viewpoint of the Annapurnas.

Day 4:
Today we have a walk of about 4 hours to the High Camp (3,500m). Shortly after leaving the Low Camp we will reach the edge and we can see the south face of Annapurna I (8.091m) and the rest of the Annapurnas range. We will continue along the edge first to the Low High Camp (3,100m), from this point the forest is disappearing and the high mountain terrain takes full prominence until we reach the High Camp.

Hikers who dare to continue can continue along this impressive edge to the Point View (4,100m) or higher. We are going to touch the Machhapuchare, in front of the Annapurnas and 1,500m above the popular trekking to the sanctuary of the Annapurnas. We will return to sleep at the High Camp

Descent route to Pokhara, the great descent.

Day 5:
From this moment on most of the route is downhill. Today we will leave the High Camp (3,500m), and when we reach the Low Camp (3,000m) we will turn to the right of the ascent path to continue along the ridge inside the Rhododendras forest to the Forest Camp (2,450m).
Six hours of quiet descent, enjoying the views and forests will allow us to reach the three simple, but clean and very cozy lodges of the Forest Camp.

Day 6:
Today we have a more varied path with some parts uphill and some long downhill tracks. Mainly we will continue inside the tropical forest, snaking at times along the edge and others on the east side of it. We will cross Deurali and some other small town until we reach the Australian Camp (2,050m). When we lose height we can begin to notice that we are approaching civilization.

Day 7:
A short and quiet 1-hour descent leaving the forest and crossing rice fields and several tea houses will allow us to reach the village of Kande (1,730m).

A vehicle will pick us up and take us by road to Pokhara in 1.5 hours.

After settling in the hotel, we can enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the second city of Nepal. Visit its lake, Peace Stupa or simply rest in one of its terraces.

Return to Kathmandu and Istanbul

Day 8:
In the morning we will take a bus that will take us to Kathmandu (210km). On the way back we can see the low valleys of Nepal. The tour lasts about 7 hours including three stops where we can eat in the villages we cross.
After settling in our hotel, we can spend the afternoon doing a last cultural visit, go shopping in the Thamel or just rest and enjoy the last night in Nepal with a good dinner.

Day 9:
We can take advantage of the first hour of the morning to make the last purchases. The guide will pick us up at the hotel to take us to the airport.
