Climb Elbrus, Russia

Climb the Elbrus (5642m), the highest mountain in Europe, is now an accessible ascent with a Mountain Guide.

From: € 1.350

Located in the Russian part of the Caucasus for many years it was forgotten, now it is an accessible and interesting ascent.

Thanks to the travel facilities of airlines and the opening of this region to active tourism, it has become the target for many mountaineers.

Located in the Russian republic of Kabardino Balkaria it receives the name in this republic, of the Mangitau, which means “The summit above thousands of mountains”. In this mountainous region of the Caucasus there are more than 160 summits that exceed 4,000 meters and 8 above 5,000.

On July 22, 1829, the Caucasian Illar Khashirov, head of a Russian scientific-military expedition, arrived at the pass that separates the two summits from the massif. Thirty-nine years later, a member of a British expedition, Douglas Frehfield, reached the 5,626-meter East Summit.

The main summit was raised for the first time, by a British expedition led by F. Crauford Grove, during the month of July of the year 1874.

In 9 days of expedition we can reach the west summit of Elbrus.

If the acclimatization of the group is good, the correct rate of ascent and the weather conditions allow it, we will also have the possibility of ascending to the 5,626-meter East summit the same day.
