The most daring will be able to venture on a journey in stages between a thousand and one lakes, spending the night in mountain huts.

ROUTES FROM 2 DAYS THAT COMBINE SIMPLE EXCURSIONS SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE AND CULTURAL VISITS.

DAY 1: THE VALLE OF INCLES
+ 130M / 6,5KM
Today we will take a trip back in time during our excursion through the Incles Valley. Here everything remains the same for centuries, you can still see the typical mountain houses called Bordas and the scythe fields that surround them. This place close to France was also a strategic place for smuggling. At the end, we will eat in a restaurant with traditional Andorran food and end the day visiting the old manor house of a humble family to transport us at the end of the 19th century.

DAY 2: SORTENY NATURAL PARK
+ 190M / 3,5KM
We start the day with an excursion through the Sorteny Natural Park. Along the way, we will find an infinity of flora and fauna species typical of the Pyrenees, as well as representative examples of the agricultural and livestock practices of yesteryear. At the end, we will taste a pica-pica of typical products of the Pyrenees in the middle of nature.

DAY 3: ROUTE OF THE IRON AND CRAFTS
+ 130M / 4,3KM
The metallurgical industry was the engine of the Andorran economy from the 17th century to the beginning of the 20th. Today we start the day in an old iron factory where we can see the entire production process and a live demonstration of how the ingots were made. Afterwards, we will take an excursion along the Iron Route to a mineral extraction mine that we can visit. Next, we will eat in a vintage hotel, wrapped in stories of refugees and pastors of the wars of the last century. We will continue with a walk through the small town of Sispony and a tasting of artisan jams in the typical house where they are made, while we discover the history of a local family.

DAY 4: COUNTERBANDISM
At the beginning of the last century, tobacco was a key economic engine of the country. Today we go into an old factory, where we will discover all the stages of its manufacture and learn more about the techniques of smugglers. Afterwards, we will take a walk through the old town of the capital and enter the church of Sant Esteve (12th century). To understand the history of our peculiar institutional system, we will visit the Casa de la Vall (16th century), the seat of one of the oldest parliaments in Europe.

DAY 1: CABANA SORDA LAKE – INCLES VALLEY
+ 600M / 12KM
Today we will take a trip back in time during our circular excursion through the Incles Valley. Our objective: the Cabana Sorda lake (2290m). Along the way, we can see the typical mountain houses called Bordas and the scythe meadows still in use. We will take a piece of the path that the smugglers used to pass to France and we will turn off towards the beautiful lake. We will relax near the shore while having a picnic. We will go down the other side of the mountain, immersed in a lush pine forest.

DAY 2: LAKE ESTANYÓ – SORTENY NATURAL PARK
+ 600M / 8,5KM
We start the day with an excursion through the Sorteny Natural Park, where we will find an infinity of flora and fauna species typical of the Pyrenees, as well as representative examples of the agricultural, livestock and industrial practices of yesteryear. We continue towards our objective, the Estanyó lake (2350m), which we will find hidden under the walls of a beautiful glacier circus. We will take up energy with a good picnic and head towards the bottom of the valley, where we will visit the traditional town of Ordino.

DAY 3: REFUGE OF FONTVERD – VALLE DEL MADRIU
+ 560M / 12KM
Today’s excursion runs through the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in the category of cultural landscape. The itinerary is a living chronology of the evolution of Andorra during the last centuries. We will discover what traditional rural life was like, the metallurgical industry and how electricity drove the country’s development. We will have a picnic at the Font Verd Refuge and down, we will visit the Romanesque church of Engolasters (12th century).

DAY 4: PIC DELS LLACS
+ 400M / 5KM
Today we go up to the Port de Cabús, just to the border with Spain, along the smugglers’ route. The views of this mountain pass are spectacular, but this is only the starting point of the excursion. As we ascend to Pic dels Llacs, we will discover the legends and dark stories that inhabit these lands and we will be able to contemplate the highest mountains in the country. At the end, we will taste a pica-pica with typical products from the Pyrenees.

COME TO DISCOVER THE HIGHEST OF OUR COUNTRY! ROUTES FROM 2 DAYS

DAY 1: LA SERRERA – RANSOL VALLEY
+ 1050M / 12KM
La Serrera (2913m) is a peak marked by history. The itinerary runs through the bucolic Ransol valley, between lakes and streams. We will put ourselves in the shoes of the eighteenth century miners, who went up this same path to look for the mineral in the Collada dels Meners. We will be able to see the old cabins in which they were housed at an altitude of 2700m. The ridge that leads us to the peak has spectacular panoramic views over the entire country. At the top, we will take advantage to recover our strength with a picnic and we will complete the itinerary on another side of the valley.

DAY 2: FONT BLANCA – ORDINO VALLEY
+ 1150M / 14KM
Today’s circular itinerary takes us to one of the highest and most emblematic peaks in the country, the Font Blanca (2903m). We will discover two different valleys on an excursion that will take us from the dense forests to the most alpine environment. Along the way, we will find the typical shepherd’s huts and the orris, where cheese was made in the past. The summit is an unbeatable viewpoint over the entire country, an ideal place to recharge your batteries with a good picnic.

DAY 3: L’ESTANYÓ – SORTENY NATURAL PARK
+ 1180M / 14.5KM
Today we are heading to Estanyó (2915m). We will go deep into the Sorteny Natural Park, where we will find an infinity of flora and fauna species typical of the Pyrenees, as well as representative examples of the agricultural and livestock practices of yesteryear. We will go from a lush pine and birch forest to a high mountain rocky landscape. Hidden below imposing rocks is the Estanyó Lake.

We continue our way until we reach the top of the glacier circus, we are at the top! We eat our picnic and continue skirting the circus to go down the other side of the valley.

DAY 4: CABANA SORDA – VALLE DE INCLES

STAGE 1: ESCALDES- ENGORDANY – REFUGIO DE L’ILLA

STAGE 3: JUCLÀ REFUGE – SORTENY REFUGE
+ 1425M / 16.9KM
Today we will take a trip back in time through two of the most beautiful valleys in the country, Incles and Sorteny. Along the way, we will find representative examples of the agricultural, livestock and industrial practices of yesteryear.

STAGE 4: SORTENY REFUGE – COMAPEDROSA REFUGE
+ 1905M / 21.9KM
We start the most demanding stage. Between valleys, hills and lakes we will get closer to the Comapedrosa Natural Park. Its rugged landscape dazzles us, there are the highest mountains in the country.

STAGE 5: REFUGE OF COMAPEDROSA – ESCALDES- ENGORDANY
+ 715M / 21.4KM
In the last stage, we will go up to the border edges with Spain to discover stories about smuggling. We will gradually descend towards the valley, where we will take the Camí Ral, the path that the ancestors used to travel when there were still no roads.
